  Athens reprise
This time the meeting ended earlier than expected and I got to sneak out for 2 hours onto the Acropolis ("High City") where the Parthenon and a cluster of ancient buildings - now ruins - still stand. My favourite was the Erechtheum with it's beautiful Porch of Maidens.

In my attempt to walk down the hill and find a taxi, I ended up strolling through the old city area of Plaka with its narrow, winding streets. The best 2 hours after a meeting, especially given it was a beautifully sunny and warm day. What a treat!

I was optimistic and lugged my new camera in the hopes of this exact opportunity. Here are some pictures from my Canon 30D's debut in the sun (see previous post on gadget addiction):
